Yu Zhao (2024 – Present)

I am a PhD student in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering at The Ohio State University.  I hold M.E and B.E degrees in civil engineering from Lanzhou University (China mainland). My research focuses on understanding and predicting abrupt permafrost degradation under a warming climate, utilizing multiphysics numerical methods and thermally controlled laboratory testing for model validations. Additionally, I am interested in computational mechanics, numerical methods, and their engineering applications.

Abdulraheem Albattah (2024 – Present)

I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering at The Ohio State University. I earned my M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Bologna in Italy, and a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Al-balqaʼ Applied University in Jordan. My research focuses on studying the microstructure of partially frozen soils under complex loading paths. I am working towards applying X-ray CT for soil characterization and developing a virtual experimental framework. I am also keen about contributing to sustainable solutions in civil infrastructure.
